Third event in Caplin's e-commerce business breakfast series held in Sydney
The third in Caplin's series of e-commerce business breakfasts was held in the sumptuous surroundings of the private dining room (Salon Privé) of the Summit restaurant in Sydney, Australia. The featured presentation was given by freelance finance journalist Alexandra Cain (right) who presented the findings of her investigation into the state of e-commerce in the Australian market to an audience of senior e-commerce and e-trading executives from the Australian banks.

Caplin opens New York Office, appoints new General Manager
To meet the requirements of new and prospective customers in the US and Canada, Caplin has opened a New York office, located in Penn Plaza. Industry veteran Jose Cadalzo has joined the company as General Manager of Caplin Systems, Inc.

Caplin to exhibit, and present case study, at US tradeshow
April 27th sees the first Waters North American Trading Architecture Summit (NATAS)
tradeshow which is being held in the Westin New York at Times Square.
The event is aimed at technologists, architects, software developers
and data center managers from both the sell-side and buy-side so they
can discuss the latest in low-latency trading technology and the
strategies in managing enterprise infrastructure.
Caplin is presenting a customer case study as part of the
"Infrastructure Management: Reducing Costs, Improving Performance"
stream as well as exhibiting in a booth at the show. We also have some

SDPs: Native or Browser-based Mobile Apps?
Apologies if you're an avid follower of Caplin's tech blog, because you may have seen this next item already, but we thought this post, written recently by Michael Poston, Caplin's London-based technical sales consultant, deserves a wider audience.
In the blog post, Michael discusses why there have been several recent announcements of mobile apps from the investment banks and examines the pros and cons of building these apps using each device's native software development kit (SDK). He considers the tools available to assist in this task, and he then looks at the advantages and disadvantages of building mobile apps using HTML, CSS and JavaScript that will run in a mobile browser without needing any add-ins.
