Sydney e-Commerce breakfast
Caplin continued its series of e-commerce breakfasts in Sydney on March 10
The third in Caplin's global series of e-commerce business breakfast events was held in Sydney, Australia, on March 10th. The Sydney event followed successful breakfast events at the Canoe restaurant at the top of the TD Tower in Toronto, and at Rhodes 24 on the 24th floor of Tower 42 in London.
Hosted by Scott McLeod, Caplin's Sales Director, the Sydney event was held in the Salon Privé private dining room of the Summit Restaurant (right) in Australia Square. This rotating restaurant offers tremendous views of Sydney along with sumptuous cuisine; the 28 attendees were served a delicious cooked breakfast before the presentations got under way.
For this event we asked local freelance finance journalist Alexandra Cain, who writes regularly for the Sydney Morning Herald among other publications, to research the state of e-commerce in the Australian marketplace and to present her findings to those attending on the day. Her engrossing presentation elicited many complimentary comments both on the day and subsequently.
Following Alexandra, Paul Caplin, founder and CEO of Caplin Systems, used his iPad to make a presentation on the global trends in e-commerce. He also reviewed the rise of mobile devices and the browser as a computing platform and then examined the relevance to e-commerce applications and single-dealer platforms.
