Johannesburg e-Commerce breakfast

Caplin continues its series of e-commerce breakfasts with a Johannesburg event held on September 27

Radisson Blu, Sandton, JohannesburgThe fourth in Caplin's global series of e-Commerce business breakfast events was held in Johannesburg on September 27th.

Guests at the event, held at the Radisson Blu (left) in the heart of Johannesburg's business district, were served a hearty cooked breakfast before the presentation and discussion got under way.

Using his iPad, Paul Caplin, founder and CEO of Caplin Systems, made a presentation on the global trends in e-commerce and discussed the latest technology being adopted in online trading, the different classes of users being included on online trading platforms and which asset classes are being added to online trading platforms.

He also reviewed the rise of mobile devices and the browser as a computing platform and then examined the relevance to e-commerce applications and single-dealer platforms.

After a short coffee break, the group returned to have a lively discussion covering various topics such as mobile trading and Web application technologies, as well as the top business trends driving IT investment in the capital markets (particularly in FX and Fixed Income).

The Johannesburg event follows successful breakfast events at the Salon Privé private dining room of the Summit Restaurant in Sydney, Rhodes 24 on the 24th floor of Tower 42 in London, and at Canoe restaurant at the top of the TD Tower in Toronto.

Caplin's next e-Commerce breakfast, to be held as part of Profit & Loss's FOREX Network Canada event, will be held in Toronto on November 9th at the Toronto Board of Trade.
