Charting configuration

This page provides a summary of all the Charting blade configuration options.

Configuration files

The Charting Blade's configuration can be found in the following files: charting.conf, fieldset.conf, and watchlist.conf.

Configuration items

This section lists the configuration items supported by the Charting Blade.

Requesting data

Option Default Value Links Description
cache-subject-forever [Visit link to see definition] Link A symbol to start caching data for at start up.
cache-container [Visit link to see definition] Link The name of a container (or Reuters chain) which will be requested on startup.
cache-subject-temp  [no default] Link Temporarily add a symbol to the watchlist.
watchlist-filename [no default] Link Name of file to write watchlist to.

Caching data

Option Default Value Links Description
max-age 10 Link Maximum amount of time (in days) to keep caching a user-requested symbol after it was last requested.
cache-directory [current directory] Link Directory to be used to store the cached charting data files.

Filtering data

Option Default Value Links Description
add-fieldset [Visit link to see definition] Link Defines how a Transformer handles a set of instruments and which fields should be cached for that type.

Outputting data to Transformer

Option Default Value Links Description
charts-prefix /CHARTS Link Prefix for subjects that the Charting blade will provide data for.

Logging

Option Default Value Links Description
log-level INFO Link Determines the errors and events that are reported to the transformer.log log file when Caplin Transformer is operating.
log-file charting.log Link Name of file to write debug messages to.

Opening hours and timezones

Option Default Value Links Description
info-page [no default] Link The name of the symbol carrying information to request at start up.
info-rerequest-time [no default] Link Minutes after midnight local time at which to rerequest trading time information.
info-rerequest-days [no default] Link Day at which to rerequest trading time information.
timeinfo-filename [no default] Link Filename to write trading time information to.
timeinfo-shutdown-write FALSE Link Boolean determining whether trading time information should be written to file on shutdown.
times-hashsize 1024 Link Number of entries in the hashtable which holds trading times.
add-exchtime [Visit link to see definition] Link Defines the opening time information for a specific exchange.
add-rictime [Visit link to see definition] Link Defines the opening time information for a specific symbol.
add-roottime [Visit link to see definition] Link Defines the opening time information for an exchange's symbol root.
root-hashlen 2 Link Number of characters to truncate root symbols to.
