On 12 April, Caplin was delighted to win the Sell Side Technology 2019 Award for Best Sell-Side Mobile Initiative.

The award recognises the successful implementation of Caplin's mobile multi-asset investment platform at Siam Commercial Bank Securities (SCBS) in Thailand. Caplin's technology enables customers to use mobile to trade multiple asset classes including funds, bonds, onshore and offshore equities, and derivatives.    

Caplin was selected due to its expertise in both mobile technology and multi-asset trading, combined with its reputation for advanced data-streaming technology. In addition, Caplin's client list of global and regional banks provided additional endorsement for the platform's functionality.

Sell Side Technology highlighted some additional factors that helped Caplin to win this category:

• Having people deployed on site - at any given point during the SCBS project, Caplin had between five and 10 staff members on the ground in Bangkok
• The rigour around checking requirements and design approval with senior management
• Establishing inter-application connectivity with legacy systems and linking them to a mobile application that provided a professional level of experience to a retail user
