Caplin White Papers

Caplin's White Papers offer a useful resource for anyone involved in e-commerce and single-dealer platforms

An Assessment of eCommerce Practices and Capabilities

Sponsored by Caplin, but conducted entirely independently by Lepus, a leading provider of specialist consulting and research services to the financial industry, this new research report explores eCommerce practices and capabilities.

The research was conducted in late 2010 and includes responses from 30 firms supplemented by a series of in-depth, one-on-one interviews. Among other conclusions, the survey results suggest that there is a global trend away from multi-dealer platforms and towards single-dealer platforms (SDPs). The research indicates that this trend is most pronounced in FX, where half the firms surveyed now execute more than 40% of FX trade volumes on SDPs, and that this trend is strongest among Tier 2 banks.
